Aside from the pathological differ-ences, the clinical observation had been thatthe lesions of tul^erculosis and syphilis oc-curred, as a rule, in different parts of thelung, the former in the upper and the latterin the lower lobes. 4. The characteristics of the shadow oftuberculosis being already definitely estab-lished, the differentiation would be betweensyphilis and other less common types of liuigdisease.
