Thepresent study was made for the purpose ofattempting to determine whether the diag-nosis of gout was justifiable upon the basisof the findings of these investigators. White, ROENTGEN REPORT NO. 814O Hands and icrists: There is moderatebony atrophy of the lower ends of the radii,ulnae, all the bones of the carpi, metacarpiand phalanges. Proliferative changes involvemost of the articular ends of the phalangesand of the distal ends of the metacarpals.The bones of the wrists show mottling, dueto small areas of decreased and increaseddensity. All the joint spaces of the wrists arenarrowed and there is some irregularity inoutline of the articular surfaces of the bones. 451 452 A
