Sometimes they take the form ofundefined masses of considerable density, which continue to growand develop into large deforming tmnors. Salivary calculi must bementioned in any consideration of the teeth. They cast dense roundor oval shadows seen in the position of the salivary glands or ducts.When projected upon the mandible in oblique views they mustnot be mistaken for areas of density in the bone. The shadows ofcalcified glands often appear in tooth plates. They are spotted 96 SKULL mulberry-like shadows, characteristic of calcified glands anywhere.The tip of an nnnsually long styloid process may be projected uponthe upper molar region and be mistaken for an extra tooth root orsupernumerary tooth.
