Barnard* has published a description with a capital radio-gram of separation of the epiphyses of the heads of the four outermetatarsal bones in a boy aged thirteen. The end of one diaphysismade a painful projection on the dorsum of the foot, and was re-moved by Mr. Mansell-Moullin. * British Medical Journal (see radiogram), December 1, 1300, p. 1568. MEDICAL AND SURGICAL APPLICATIONS (d) CONGENITAL AND OTHER BONY DEFORMITIES. The underlying bone conditions of many deformities of the humanbody can be clearly demonstrated by means of the rays. Formerlyit was possible to study such deformities only after death, and uponthe dry bone, but radiography has now made ascertainable theactual state of affairs upon the living body.
