Shipbuilding. "Liberty" ships. This worker is laying out steel plates from wood templates, or patterns. The patterns indicate rivet hole locations and other necessary information. All parts are prefabricated in this Eastern plant which used to turn out freight cars. Completed sections are carried six miles to the ways on flat cars.
