Summary
Significance: Two-story brick rectangular building, 256 feet long by 65 feet wide. The second floor, 20 feet above the first, is suspended on four rows of forty 2 inch diameter iron rods that connect the floors' summer beams with the roof truss above, giving a clear opening through the entire first floor area with no interior posts or load bearing walls. The building is vacant and exhibits some deterioration of the roof sheathing, planking, and trusses. The present structure was built in 1882.
