François Limosin I - Sirens - Walters 44193
Summary
A confronted pair of winged figures, male and female, blow curved horns. The male holds grapes and his partner, a flower. The body of each ends in a foliate scroll with a convoluted end. The black background is strewn with minute sprays and tendrils in gilding. Signed on the lower left: F.L. The plaque may be dated to the last decade of the 16th century.
