Yarmouth is located in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States, on Cape Cod, and was first settled in the 1600s. The area has a rich history and maritime heritage. It was a major shipbuilding, whaling, and fishing center. Yarmouth's historic homes date back to the 1700s and 1800s. The Historical Society of Old Yarmouth operates the Captain Bangs Hallet House Museum.
