Antonio Jacobsen - The Ardangorm outward bound - 1891
Summary
The S.S. Ardangorm was built by Ramage & Ferguson of Leith (yard no. 31) for McLaren, Crum & Co of Glasgow. The 1,662 ton steamer was launched in October 1881. In 1887, the vessel was acquired by Ardan SS Co Ltd of Glasgow, and in 1899 taken over by Glasgow Nav Co Ltd. In 1901, the ship was bought by Hadji Saboo Seedick & Co of Bombay and became the S.S. Secunder. The next owner - in 1907 - was A.Poupard of Bombay. In 1908 she was bought by Victor Huteau of Port Louis, Mauritius, and the final owner - in 1916 - was the Government of Mauritius.
