The men with whom he worked,fanatical and intolerant, often madelight of him for being a heretic, buthe knew how to endure hardness as agood soldier of Jesus Christ. One daythese fanatics were speaking slightinglyof him and his religion, when the bosscame in. He reproved them for theirunkind words, and invited Pedro tostand up and tell them all what he be-lieved and why. This simple servantof the Lord was equal to the occasion,and breathing out a prayer to God forhelp, he took his Bible in his hand andpreached unto them Jesus.
