The second stage of a Titan IV/Centaur expendable launch vehicle is suspended in the Vertical Integration Building before being moved into position for mating to the first stage. The Titan IVB rocket is the newest version of America's most powerful unmanned rocket. This rocket will be used for the Cassini mission to Saturn. The Cassini launch is targeted for October 6 from Launch Complex 40, Cape Canaveral Air Station KSC-97pc662

Documentation is done on the first Taurus Rocket Launch. The Taurus Rocket stands 90 feet tall and weighs 75-tons. The payload stage is being off loaded from the transport truck and made ready for mating to the Taurus Booster. This section contains the two satellites that are to be boosted into orbit by the new system

STS-34 Galileo spacecraft / inertial upper stage (IUS) deployment

This is documentation of the first Taurus Rocket launch. The Taurus Rocket stands 90 feet tall and weighs 75-tons. Stage Zero, a Peacekeeper missile's first stage, is being used as the first booster motor on the new Taurus rocket. The new system uses this stage and combines it with Pegasus booster to form the new low cost and rapid deployment booster. Here it is being loaded onto a low boy trailer for tranport to the launch site

The first solid rocket booster solid motor segemnts to arrive at KSC, the left and right hand aft segments are off-loaded into High Bay 4 in the Vehicle Assembly Building and mated to their respective SRB aft skirts. The two aft assemblies will support the entire 150 foot tall solid boosters, in turn supporting the external tank and Orbiter Columbia on the Mobile Launcher Platform, for the first orbital flight test of the Space Shuttle. An ORU Transfer Device (OTD) sits secured on top of the International Cargo Carrier (ICC). The OTD is a U.S.-built crane that will be stowed on the International Space Station's Unity module for use during future ISS assembly missions. The nonpressurized ICC fits inside the payload bay of the orbiter. The ICC will also carry the SPACEHAB Oceaneering Space System Box (SHOSS), a logistics items carrier. SHOSS can hold a maximum of 400 pounds of equipment and will carry items to be used during STS-96 and future ISS assembly flights. The ICC will fly on mission STS-96, targeted for launch on May 20 KSC-99pp0245
