US Battle Training Area, Devon, England, UK, September 1944
A quiet street in the village of Slapton in Devon. Piled outside many of the doors are US Army camp beds awaiting collection. These beds were used by GIs when they stayed in the area to take part in training carried out in preparation for the D-Day landings. Many of the houses pictured lost the glass from their windows during the training exercises.
