Transform Plate Boundaries—Pinnacles National Park, California

Located near the San Andreas Fault along the boundary of the Pacific Plate and the North American Plate, is an excellent example of tectonic plate movement. Some 23 million years ago multiple volcanoes erupted, flowed, and slid to form what would become Pinnacles National Park.
