Technical Sergeant (TSGT) Michael Callahan, USAF, Non Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of Ophthalmology, 48th Aerospace Medicine Squadron (AMDS), 48th Fighter Wing (FW), Royal Air Force Lakenheath, United Kingdom, uses a corneal topographer at the 48th Medical Group's (MDG) Optometry Clinic. A corneal topographer provides a map of the eye's cornea and helps determine where laser resurface corrections will be made. The 48th AMDS Optometry Clinic see over 100 patients a day and is the only Department of Defense (DoD) eye clinic in the United Kingdom, with 99.9% of all cases that come into the clinic can be handled in-house with no referrals for further treatment
