Summary
8,197 GRT merchant ship City of Athens. Sir James Laing & Co of Sunderland built her in 1945 as the tanker Beechwood for John I Jacobs Ltd of Liverpool. In 1955 Soc. de Nav. Magliveras of Panama bought her and had her converted to a dry cargo ship. Ellerman Lines chartered her and she was renamed City of Athens. In 1957 she was renamed Marianne. In 1964 Patt, Manfield & Co of Hong Kong bought her and renamed her Constellation. In 1970 Golden Moon Shipping of Panama bought her and renamed her Golden Moon. She was scrapped in 1973.
