Meet in Historic Hall. Delegates from thirty nations met in the first general conference of the League of Red Cross Societies held in the famous Salle de l'Alabama in Geneva. It was in this hall that the treaty was concluded between the United States and Great Britain putting to an end the dispute arising out of the Civil War over the Battleship Alabama. It was claimed that the vessel had been built by the British for the confederate states and had sunk union boats. A claim for reparation was filed and the dispute settled in this hall.
