Malone, former Chairman of the Illinois Tax Commission who has been sentences to two years in preison for Income Tax fraud, flew to Washington today to appeal personally to President Roosevelt for a pardon. Upon arrival at the airport, Malone stated that he felt confident that when President Roosevelt knew all of the facts in the case he would not tolerate what they are planning to do with me," 5/9/38
