ernal uncles, was a Captain in the Warof 1812, and died at the age of ninety-five. His mother is stillliving, at the age of ninety-one, having remarkable mental andphysical strength. He was one of the Carney Medal scholars atthe Lowell High School, and graduated from Harvard in 1873,having won several scholarship prizes. Studied law in the of^ceof Hon. Theodore H. Sweetser, with whom he subsequentlywent into partnership, and so remained until the death of thatable law3^er, after which he became associated with Colonel JohnH. George, Attorney for the Boston &; Lowell Railroad. In1893 he was elected City Solicitor of Cambridge, a position whichhe still continues to manage with signal fidelity, skill, and ability.He is a member of the Masonic order, being affiliated with thelodge, chapter, and commandery in Cambridge. He is also anOdd Fellow, and is connected with many social clubs in the L^ni-versity City. In religion he is an active and earnest Baptist, andin politics a Republican.
