This is a fascinating 1857 map of the French department of Aube, France. This area of France is known for its production of Chaource, a soft and salted cheese. Aube is part of France's Champagne region. The whole is surrounded by elaborate decorative engravings designed to illustrate both the natural beauty and trade richness of the land.
