Mr. Lincoln referred to the alleged senatorial deal between himself and Mr.Trumbull; he declared it was a gross and palpable misrepresentation and nottrue. In regard to the resolutions read by Mr. Douglas as the Republicanplatform of 1854. he stated: I never had anything to do with them, and I thinkthat Trumbull never had.
