YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 04, 2007) Visitors and Sailors take advantage of a rare opportunity to tour both USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), a U.S. Navy Ship and JDS Takanami (DD 110), Japan Self Defense Force Ship, during Commander Fleet Activities Yokosukas 31st Annual Friendship Day. Blue Ridge and Takanami played host to more than 10,000 Japanese visitors. Blue Ridge is permanently forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan and serves as the flagship for Commander U.S. 7th Fleet.
