Matthew Nathan, Surgeon General of the Navy and Chief of the Navy's Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, tours the replacement Naval Hospital at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. The new hospital is a 500,000 sq. foot, multi-level facility that will included improved inpatient medical facilities, ancillary departments, specialty care clinics, operating rooms and support spaces. The project is scheduled for completion in January 2014 and is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
