English: A member of the aristocratic family and member of the Imperial court, Apraksin joined the Chevalier Guards regiment in 1806, served in the Turkish campaign of 1807 being wounded at Ruschuk, appointed adjutant to Count Uvarov in 1814, promoted colonel and aide-de-camp to the Emperor Alexander I when in Paris, at the Great Parade on 30 August 1815.
He was awarded the Order of St. George (4th class) and the Prussian Order 'Pour le Mérite' and other orders.
