Summary
An S2E Tracker anti-submarine aircraft of 33 Patrol Squadron USN on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier HMAS Melbourne. At the time, the ship was involved in SEATO exercise Sea Devil held in the South China Sea. During the exercise, the Fleet Air Arm was conducting cross-operations with other aircraft capable of operating from HMAS Melbourne. The opportunity was taken to determine the suitability of this aircraft as a next generation replacement for the then current Gannet aircraft.
