Summary
Significance: Facility No. 75 was built in 1940 as part of the build-up of the Naval Air Station at Ford Island in the period preceding World War II. During World War II it was used as an aviation parts storehouse; its role in the repair and maintenance of aircraft contributed to the success of Naval aviation battles in the Pacific. In the Cold War period Facility No. 75 became significant as the new home for the Fleet Intelligence Center Pacific and the Naval Oceanographic Processing Facility. The Ford Island location and the sturdy design of this building provided security for these sensitive operations. The building design is noteworthy for its adaptation of standard storehouse plans to fit the unusual site.
