U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. John Yasechko assembles an antenna in preparation of exercise KAMANDAG 3 at Subic Bay, Philippines, Oct. 5, 2019. The United States is proud to participate in this Philippine-led, bilateral exercise in order to develop capabilities across a wide range of military operations. Yasechko, a native of Hawkinsville, Ga., is an air traffic control communications technician, with Marine Air Control Squadron 4. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase “Kaagapay Ng Mga Manirigma Ng Dagat,” which translates to “Cooperation of the Warriors of the Sea,” highlighting the partnership between the U.S., Philippine, and Japanese militaries.
