The boy was discovered while Marines were conducting a cordon knock in the area and entered his family's home during Operation Matador. Operation Matador is a weeklong hunt for insurgents along the Syrian border, which is believed to be the main entry point into Iraq for foreign insurgents. 2nd Marine Division is conducting security and stabilization operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).
