Summary
U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Ellen Smith, (left), a health care specialist assigned to 2nd Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment, based out of Fort Riley, Kan., takes attendance of the service members at the Wounded Warrior Care Center on Kandahar Airfield. As the noncommissioned officer in charge of the WWCC, she makes sure soldiers are taken care of by setting them up with a room and making sure they make their appointments. Service members are brought to the WWCC on KAF to recuperate from shrapnel injuries, broken limbs and other battlefield wounds. Once in good health, the wounded warriors are able to return to their respective units.
