U.S. Army North & SEDENA begin Exercise Fuerzas Amigas

Lt. Gen. Laura J. Richardson, commanding general of U.S. Army North (Fifth Army), Command Sgt. Maj. Phil K. Barretto, U.S. Army North senior enlisted leader, and U.S. Army North personnel conduct a video teleconference with Lt. Gen. Celestino Ávila Astudillo, Secretaria de la Defensa Nacional (SEDENA), Military Region II Commander, to kick-off Exercise Fuerzas Amigas, Nov. 2, 2020. Fuerzas Amigas is an annual bi-lateral Theater Security Cooperation exercise, focused on Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) and Mexico’s National Defense Plan – III (DN3) to foster and build a military-to-military partnership between U.S. Army North and the Mexican military while conducting disaster response operations along the U.S./Mexico border.
