Summary

Unidentified steam schooner towing a log raft out to sea from Fort Bragg, CA. The date may be as early as 1886.[CR][CR]"This raft was built and launched from the beach immediately south of the Fort Bragg wharf. The object was the develop a cheap method of transporting piling to San Francisco. Heavy seas broke up the raft before it reached its destination."[CR][CR]Written in pencil under quote, "Only partly accurate- R. Tooker"
