UH-60 Black Hawk pilots and crews from California Army

description

Summary

UH-60 Black Hawk pilots and crews from California Army National Guard's 1-140th Aviation Battalion, based out of Los Alamitos, work alongside fire crews from Cal Fire at the Laytonville, Calif., helibase in the Mendocino County, Aug. 4, 2014. Helicopters are flown to local dip sites to fill their 660-gallon water buckets and then directed by on board Cal Fire managers on where to drop their load on the Lodge Complex fire, which has burned 4,000 acres and is 20 percent contained. Approximately five Black Hawk helicopters and other Cal Fire and contracted rotor aircraft use the helibase as a jumping-off point to battle the blaze.
