Illustration of sea creatures that supposedly lived in the East-Indian waters. Excerpted from a rare 1782 edition, held at Utrecht University Library, of the publication Poissons, Ecrevisses et Crabes, better known as Histoire Naturelle or Natuurlyke Historie by Amsterdam bookseller and publisher Louis Renard (1678/79-1746). Illustrations were drawn by Samuel Fallours, an artist employed by the Dutch East India Company.
