Informs President SEC ready to proceed with investigation of insurance companies. Washington, D.C., Jan. 24. William O. Douglas, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, leaving the White House today after reporting to President Roosevelt that the commission was ready to proceed with its investigation of insurance companies in connection with the present monopoly inquiry.
