listening tothe supernatural stillness, if I may so de-scribe the perfect calm, when suddenly everyone startled at the deep and solemn boomof the great war drum, or nogara! Threedistinct beats, at slow intervals, rangthrough the apparently deserted town, andechoed loudly from the neighboring moun-tain. It was the signal!
