The North Carolina National Guard Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Greg Lusk addresses the family and Soldiers gathered for the North Carolina National Guard’s (NCNG) 1-130th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion (1-130th ARB) and Det. 1 B Co. 638th Aviation Support Battalion deployment ceremony at Hope Community Church in Raleigh, North Carolina, April 17, 2018. The unit’s almost 300 soldiers will serve as the aviation task force battalion headquarters in support of Operation Freedom's Sentinel across Train, Advise and Assist Command - South (TAAC-S) in support of United States Forces and Afghan National Defense and Security Forces in order to enable conditions that lead to the stability and security of Afghanistan.
