The Hampton Roads Naval Museum submitted several 3D

description

Summary

The Hampton Roads Naval Museum submitted several 3D printed artifacts from their collection to be exhibited at the Hermitage Museum in Norfolk, Virginia. The 3D prints were part of a city-wide collaboration with area museums for a new exhibit titled “3D Printing the Smithsonian”. In addition to the Naval Museum’s 3D printed artifacts, other local museums also submitted artifacts including the Chrysler Museum of Art, Hunter House Victorian Museum, Sergeant Memorial Collection and Nauticus. The exhibit brings to light the 3D printing technology and encourages visitors to touch and handle the printed artifacts. The exhibit is on display through December 2018.
