The final U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III, P-223, performs a flyover during a delivery ceremony Sept. 12, 2013, on the flight line at Joint Base Charleston - Air Base, S.C. This historical event comes more than 20 years after the 437th Airlift Wing and the 315th Airlift Wing took delivery of the very first C-17 to enter the Air Force inventory June 14, 1993, and marks the successful completion of C-17 production for the U.S. Air Force. An Air Force C-17A Globemaster III, 437th Airlift Wing (AW), Charleston AFB, South Carolina, prepares to depart Germany loaded with Tri-Wall Aerial Delivery System (TRIADS) containers. Air Force C-17's delivered Humanitarian Daily Rations (HDR) in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM from Germany to Afghan refugees who massed inside the borders of Afghanistan.
