A Japanese prisoner of war watches a Dakota aircraft of 31 Squadron, Royal Air Force land on the airstrip at Bandoeng. Due to ambushes and sabotage by Indonesian nationalists on the roads between Batavia and Bandoeng, the only secure supply route to the latter city was by air.
