Ten of the 19 different tube food meals for U.S. Air
Summary
Ten of the 19 different tube food meals for U.S. Air Force U-2S pilots are displayed at the Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center in Natick, Massachusetts, July 6, 2016. Tube food is mass produced by food technologists at Natick and then shipped to U.S. Air Force U2S pilots who use the food for consumption during their sorties. The pilots, who wear a full pressure suit in order to fly at altitudes exceeding 70,000 feet, attach the tube food to a nozzle on their helmets which allows them to suck the food from the tube while maintaining the pressure seal on their flight suits.
