description

Summary

Nashville, Tennesee (September 30, 2008) -- Hugh McNaughten, host of the TV show "Southern Woods and Waters", dedicated his entire one hour program in helping the flotillas of middle Tennessee with a membership drive. "Southern Woods and Waters" is recognized as the premier television program in middle Tennessee dedicated to the outdoors. Hugh McNaughten has hosted this program for over six years. The program is broadcast on News Channel 5 cable and is viewed by hundreds of thousand people weekly within a 100 mile radius of Nashville.

On camera are Rosemary Haldorsson, FSO-MT and Harry Stephenson, FSO-PA, both from Flotilla 11-04 8ER. Haldorsson received her initial training in California and has been an auxiliarist for 4 years, Stephenson joined 11-04 18 months ago.

Hugh McNaughten is a great friend to the Auxiliary. He dedicated an entire program just before the kick off of National Safe Boating Week, and plans to bring a film crew to one of our boating safety classes early next year. Hugh stated that he wants to take the class himself and use some filmed footage in a televised show in 2009. Photo by William Mason, USCGAux.
