Soldiers from the U.S. Army’s 690th Rapid Port Opening Element, based at Ft. Eustis, Va., conduct nighttime operations during Operation Huron Thunder at the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center in Alpena, Mich., July 23, 2018. The 690th RPOE worked with the Kentucky Air National Guard’s 123rd Contingency Response Group to operate a Joint Task Force-Port Opening during the exercise.
