Photo shows 2nd St., S.E., between East Capitol Street and Independence Ave., at the intersection with A St. Looking east-northeast towards St. Mark's Church at 3rd and A Streets, with the Folger Library at left. The Annex, now known as the Adams Building, was built on this site in the 1930s. A similar view is dated ca. 1930.
