Service members of Joint Forces Command – United Assistance
Summary
Service members of Joint Forces Command – United Assistance deployed to Barclay Training Center, Monrovia, Liberia, participated in a 5-kilometer Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot Nov. 27, 2014. The fun run gave troops the opportunity to run on the beach, which is otherwise off limits to service members. Operation United Assistance is a Department of Defense operation in Liberia to provide logistics, training and engineering support to U.S. Agency for International Development-led efforts to contain the Ebola virus outbreak in western Africa.
