School and community buildings on La Delta Project. Thomastown, Louisiana

description

Summary

Picryl description: Public domain image of a small palace, chateau, villa, residential historic building, free to use, no copyright restrictions image.

This is another AI-assisted collection, this time it features 20K+ images of manors. A manor is a large country house with lands, the principal house of a landed (country) estate. This collection took about 15 minutes to make, including adding about 18,000 relevant images as "manors" and removing portraits of people with "Manor" last names. Of course, image recognition was already done before and that process required much much longer time and machine resources. Please contact us if you need large image sets or need to tag your own large collections using our neural networks.

Dams under construction. Watts Bar Dam, shown here under construction, has a semi-outdoors type powerhouse with an enormous gantry crane (to the right of the picture) for installation and removal of units. The project is further distinguished by a control building which is entirely removed from the hydro plant, being located some 120 feet higher on top of a steep cliff and with direct connection to the switchyard behind. The windowless left wing of the control building houses the control room; the tower-like structure in the back accomodates air conditioning, restrooms, etc. The glass wall, upper level, contains the reception room with a broad semi-circular overlook terrace, the story below the terrace devoted to offices

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. – The Delta II interstage adapter, or ISA, for NASA's Soil Moisture Active Passive mission, or SMAP, is delivered to the mobile service tower at Space Launch Complex 2 on Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. A United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket will loft SMAP into orbit. The ISA connects the Delta II first and second stages and encloses the second stage engine and thrust section. The spacecraft will provide global measurements of soil moisture and its freeze/thaw state. These measurements will be used to enhance understanding of processes that link the water, energy and carbon cycles, and to extend the capabilities of weather and climate prediction models. The data returned also will be used to quantify net carbon flux in boreal landscapes and to develop improved flood prediction and drought monitoring capabilities. Launch is scheduled for November 2014. To learn more about SMAP, visit http://smap.jpl.nasa.gov. Photo credit: NASA/Randy Beaudoin KSC-2014-3493
