This system is operated by 6th Communications Battalion, New York City, NY and is providing satellite communications out of the base camp. Baltic Challenge '97 is a multinational exercise conducted in the spirit of NATO's Partnership for Peace (PfP) initiative. More than 2600 military personnel from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, and the USA will participate in the second PfP land exercise conducted in the Baltic region.
