Description: Shown here is the exterior of the Kailash Temple, as seen from the southern end of the courtyard located within Cave 16 of the Ellora Caves Temple Complex. The Kailash Temple is best known for being vertically excavated by the original builders, who carved the stone temple from the top, downward.
