Series B. — In these tests, the pressure drop and power losson the double track alone were investigated. The connectionswere the same as those in Fig. 137, except that the pressure 440 ELECTRIC RAILWAY TEST COMMISSION across the voltmeter and the pressure coil of the wattmeter wasthe pressure drop of the track alone, instead of that of the trackand trolley wire combined, which was the condition in Series A.This connection was made by means of a No. 12 5. & aS. gagecopper pressure wire, which was connected to the track at thewest end of the section under test. This pressure lead was 930ft. long, and was 3 ft. above the ground. Series C. — These tests comprised those on the single trackand trolley combined.
