SELFRIDGE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Mich.-- An A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft, part of the 107th “Red Devil” Fighter Squadron, awaits pre-flight check on May 16, 2018. The 107th Fighter Squadron, stationed here at Selfridge, is one of the oldest flying units in the U.S. Air Force. The squadron has served on multiple deployments in recent years and has roots dating back to 1917, when it was initially organized as the 107th Aero Squadron at Kelly Field, Tex.
