rator should be familiar with the appearancesshown in any departures from the normal when they are subjected to anX-ray examination. The technique of this method has developed rapidlywith the improvements in apparatus, and, as experience accumulates, thevalue of an individual operator increases proportionately with the numberof cases he is called upon to examine. Greater accuracy in diagnosis mustfollow upon the accumulation of experience, and when it is possible tostandardise methods the value of X-ray examination will be correspondinglygreater. A doubtful case should be sent for Rdntgen examination, with a carefulnote of the history and details of the physical signs and symptoms and ofany laboratory tests that are available. These may give a clue as to themethod of examination most likely to be useful in elucidating some doubtfulpoint in the diagnosis.
