South China Sea (May. 26, 2004) Quartermaster Seaman Joey Mays uses a stadimeter to determine the range to the guided missile destroyer USS Russell (DDG 59). Three other ships, the guided missile destroyer USS McCampbell (DDG 85), salvage ship USS Salvor (ARS 52), and the Coast Guard cutter Mellon (WHEC 717) make up the exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) task group for 2004.
